What Makes a Good Rifle Club & Club Member?

What being part of the club is really all about.

Rifle clubs and their members are the life blood of our sport!

When clubs are welcoming, operating safely and efficiently, the sport of long-range rifle shooting is strong, vibrant and healthy — presenting a strong future.

A Good Rifle Club…

  • Emphasises safety above all else.
  • Facilitates reliable instruction.
  • Provides opportunities for both recreational and competitive shooters.
  • Maintains a strong community and a sense of camaraderie.

Of course, it’s the members themselves that create the community & the camaraderie.

When everyone chips in to help — everyone gets to enjoy their day and each other’s company.

A Good Club Member…

1 Is responsible & follows the rules

Careful, and a role model for the rules. Offers to help whenever they can — on the range to set up or pack up, or in the clubhouse with whatever’s needed (where do they keep the broom? Haha!).

2 Socialises with their club mates

Perhaps helping with the BBQ or refreshments, or just starting or joining conversations. Ask questions, share ideas and enjoy being part of the club — bring the family too!

3 Turns up & gets involved

Wherever possible, you’d be a welcome sight at the AGM, club meetings, events and working bees.

Many hands don’t just make light work — they also make for a more enjoyable and vibrant club experience.

Don’t forget…

We’re a Sport to Love for Life!  Enjoy!
