Feel free to visit the official NSW Police website, where sample forms are available for download.
- Establish a genuine reasonFirst off you will need to have a genuine reason to possess a firearm; the list and requirements can be found here. For the purpose of brevity, we will assume that your genuine reason will be target and/or hunting, which will require you to join a club that is registered for these activities.
- Join a clubJoin a club that meets your needs and is registered for your genuine reason.
- Complete a firearms safety training courseOnce you’ve joined a club, you will be required to sit a firearms safety training course.
- Apply for your licenceUpon completing your firearms safety training course and joining a club, you’re now ready to apply for your firearms licence via the MyServiceNSW Account.
